Sweet southern Louisiana wedding

We love this sweet southern wedding of Morgan Broussard and Jeremy Martinez from last summer. These super cute lovebirds tied the knot in the quaintest little white church and held their reception on the groom’s mother’s property in Clinton, Louisiana. The most important thing to this couple was that their family and friends could be there to celebrate, so when Morgan’s sister announced her pregnancy, they changed the wedding date so she could still fly to be with them on their special day which left them with only four months to pull their wedding together.

Morgan found a gorgeous off the rack gown at Ashley Renee Bridal in Baton Rouge and found full length bridesmaid’s gowns in navy. The groom and his guys wore simple black suits with a single white rose boutonniere. The bride carried a white floral bouquet of roses and peonies. They chose a classic, three-tiered white cake with contrasting texture buttercream layers topped with the cutest topper proclaiming them to be Mr. & Mrs. Martinez.

As time was a factor, this crafty bride made her own signage for various locations throughout the reception. Our absolute favorite piece was the “guest book” which was a small replica pirogue (a small boat used by cajuns in the swamp in Louisiana) that Jeremy and his step-dad made by hand. The couple had their guests sign it so that they could hang it on the porch at their house.
