Eclectic Vintage Styled Bridal Shoot

The colorful, eclectic interior of The Gray House in Raleigh, North Carolina was the perfect setting for this 1920s-inspired styled bridal shoot featuring Carolina Ballet dancer Kathleen Black. She wore a classic, backless, three-dimensional gown from Gilded Bridal with pointe shoes. Makeup artist Nina McCaskey of Wedded Kiss, styled the shoot and completed Kathleen’s look. Audrey Priel of Rose Trail Images shot these beautiful images.

One of our favorite scenes staged by this group of wedding pros is the subtle but unmistakable Mad Hatter Tea Party. Sheri Outlaw, owner of The Gray House, was thrilled use her grandmother’s china in this fun, eccentric tablescape. The Gray House once belonged to Sheri’s great-grandparents. Now, she rents out the private home for parties and small weddings.

The Gray House is actually white, but Gray is a family name. The interior is anything but neutral. Inside, you’ll find aqua painted dining room chairs, a chartreuse accent wall and a lounge featuring a baby grand piano and hot pink curtains.

“My great grandmother loved to entertain, and so did my grandmother. They would have huge parties here,” Sheri recently told Walter Magazine.  “I want to use my whole house in all different kinds of fun and interesting ways. I love having people in and out all the time. I feed off of that energy. … And I always have a reason for homemade scones and dessert.”
