Last week, I shared the first nine tips of marriage. These have helped our marriage. I hope they help your marriage. Here are tips 10-18:
10. Share. This is a marriage of two people. Share your responsibilities. You will especially appreciate this tip once you have little ones.
11. Compromise. This is so important in any relationship. Life is not black and white; it’s gray…a beautiful gray which can be silver or platinum. Learn to give and take.
12. Words hurt. Think before you speak especially if you are in the heat of the moment. I have found it’s better to bite my tongue.
13. Take a deep breath and back off. Usually after cooling off, what you were arguing about seems senseless.
14. Remember the seventh commandment of the Ten Commandments: Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultry. You want to give your spouse 100%.
15. Always say, “I Love You” no matter when or where.
16. Life is short, cherish your time together and make it often.
17. Thank God everyday for this special blessing!
18. There’s no “I” in team which is what you are in a marriage. There is no you or me or I; only “we”.
Next Monday, we will have the final nine tips plus one to grow on for our 27 years of marriage tips. I look forward to your feedback.
