I DO Y'ALL

Meet the team Monday – Jenifer Ammons

When Jennifer Ammons wanted to come join our team, we were so thrilled! Not only is she a monster media rep, but she is so lively and ridiculously fun to be around. It took about five minutes for her to become a part of our team. Jenifer works with wedding pros in central and north Mississippi, central Louisiana, parts of Tennessee and Arkansas. Her understanding of media reach, especially digital markets, is expert level, and she brings a wealth of knowledge to her clients. She’s got quite the creative streak as well, and she actively seeks clients who are next level in the services they provide to our engaged couples. She’s already brought us amazing new wedding pros in markets we’ve barely been, simply because they are great at what they do and our followers need to know about them. We can’t wait to see who she finds next!Name: Jenifer Dixon Ammons

Job Title:  Sales Manager

Career path & School: Marketing Degree Mississippi State University. When I graduated in 1997 I worked for several newspapers including The Mississippi Business Journal, The Madison County Journal, The Northside Sun, but most recently left broadcast television sales after an 18 year tenure with Fox40 News WDBD. I have always had a passion for Advertising and Media.

Hometown: I was born and raised in Clinton, MS, but my family and I have settled in Glucksdadt.

Share a bit about your family.  I am married to my college sweetheart Jay Ammons and he is employed with the United States Army Corp of Engineers in Vicksburg.  We met at MSU.  We have two boys.  Warren Ellis is in the 9th grade at Germantown High school and plays for the 9th grade Germantown baseball team.  Weston is in the 3rd grade at Madison Crossing and he plays competitive baseball for the Mississippi Mavericks and Rec league football.  We are a baseball-loving family.  Our weekends are spent at the baseball field. My only daughter is a long haired Jack Russell Terrier named Delta Dawn. She and I are outnumbered in our house with her brother being a Weimaraner named Smoke. We like to travel together and go on adventures.  Our favorite family time is spent at the beach, white-water rafting, zip lining or at a theme park riding new roller coasters.  When Weston was 20 months old we had him zip lining in Honduras.  I love adventurous travels, and I plan to always instill adventure and fun into my children.

What is your favorite part of your job and what memories stand out about your experience here? The favorite part of my job is working with a lively bunch of girls that can laugh with me, laugh at me, and since I am the newbie on the block I am looking forward to new life-long friendships. I love to travel and I am having so much fun traveling meeting new people and most importantly in an industry that helps make a brides dream come true.

What wedding pros do you love – blogs, magazines, vendors, etc.? Well when I got engaged I started collecting magazines of Vogue Bride and Modern bride.  It was not until 3 years ago that I finally parted with all of those magazines with the exception of a few that I just could not part with.  Having a tangible magazine to look through and dream in was something important to me.  I had my dress and my ring narrowed down thanks to those magazines back then.  I love that I work for a company that gives future brides things to dream about when it comes to deciding how they want their perfect day to be.

Sum up your own wedding for us (or your dream wedding). I was married in 2000 in Clinton in a very traditional wedding. Nothing fancy by far.  It was the honeymoon that was so much fun.  I am a kid a heart so we spent a week going around to all the Disney World resorts and Universal resorts and then jumped on a ship for a 4 day cruise to the Bahamas to top it off. It was at Disney World where I made my husband learn to “love” roller coasters.  He had never been on a coaster, so I told him Space Mountain was a slow ride through space.  When it was over I said, “Congratulations you have now ridden your first roller coaster”. He has been hooked ever since.

What are your hobbies and or things you are passionate about? Personally – I love to make handmade jewelry, bargain shop, paint, traveling and spending time at the baseball field or taking my boys to games at Miss State , spending time with the family at the lake skiing, tubing or just cruising the lake.  I have 4 nieces, 3 nephews, 2 great nieces and 3 great nephews that I adore. All but two come from my side of the family so Christmas is very important to me and the one time out of the year I can be with all of them at one time.  Professionally -I am passionate about advertising and marketing to help businesses grow. It is very rewarding feeling to see your clients succeed.

Who are your personal heroes, professional or personal? Although I am equally a Mama and a Daddy’s girl, my Daddy is my biggest hero.  He is the smartest and wisest man I know and always has the answers and can fix most anything.  Recently my Mama had a massive stroke.  He is even more a hero in my eyes than ever before because he has hardly left my mama’s side through all of this.  Next to Jesus he is the most selfless person I know.
