Vintage charm wedding is full of personal details

From the moment we saw the photos of Laura Armour and Christian Good’s December Mississippi wedding, we knew they were going to be something special. An accomplished wedding photographer herself, Laura has an eye for composition and detail. We expected the shots by Jen Menard Photography to be perfect, and we were not disappointed. What we weren’t prepared for was how she planned their event with such personal and intimate details. We were all in tears within the first few minutes of looking at the photos.

Rather than the over-the-top extravaganza you’d expect from someone in the wedding industry, this adorable couple’s wedding employed only a few vendors who helped create an event that was an intimate glimpse into the couple’s loving relationship. Instead of layers of trendy ideas, each detail was lovingly selected to represent the pair and their journey to the altar. The bride wore a simple lace, boho style gown with the loveliest pair of blue velvet Mary Janes and a simple hair style with natural makeup. For her bridesmaids, a mix of muted toned gowns in coordinating colors of maroon, dusty blue and soft rose and various textures of their own choosing allowed for each to shine. The gentlemen were in slate blue with maroon bow ties to match the florals.

The simple outdoor ceremony by the lake combined a vintage console for the guest book, antique sofas, and rustic benches and simple chairs. The vintage style of the event carried through the indoor reception where slat wood walls were lined with vintage furniture displaying food and drinks including a rustic table loaded with cake and doughnuts. Simple signs and casual photos of the couple were artfully displayed around the room along with wedding photos of parents and grandparents. We were so in love with this beautiful couple and their sweet, vintage wedding, we selected it to be the cover wedding for our magazine, Premier Wedding Magazine. There are far too many photos in this post, because, quite honestly, this wedding was so fresh and lovely I could have selected a hundred.
