I am been talking to various wedding coordinators. I feel I need someone to help me and to coordinate all the vendors and assist me in my planning. Most are priced about the same. But one coordinator was about half the price of the others. My fiancée, who is watching the money, feels this is too good of deal to pass up. But, something bothers me. I feel that it may be too good of a deal and I may have problems later, at the wedding. What do you think?

Listen to your instincts. You are right. There could be problems further down the line. And you certainly don’t want problems the day of your wedding. Ask yourself these questions, why is this particular coordinator so cheap? Is she new in the industry and trying to build her name? Does she work off a low fee because she receives fees or kickbacks from the vendors you use? Why is her time and expertise so much less than the others?
I was always told, “if it sounds like too good of a deal, it is.” Pass on it. I would tell you the same. It’s not about the money you are spending with this wedding coordinators. It’s about the expertise, professionalism, confidence you have in her. The last thing you need is to be stressed out. And you will be with half priced Mama. You know this. That’s why you wrote me. You want confirmation on your decision.
Listen to that little inner voice and go with the coordinator that you feel most confident in and you feel in your heart will take care of your on this all important day. Ask for referrals not only from brides but other wedding professionals. Go to the industry leader and ask them about these different planners you are considering using for your wedding. Listen to them. And then go with the person you click with and want to be part of your wedding experience. Good luck with all this and Happy Wedding Planning.
