Why Gift Baskets are a Real Treat

Want to treat your out-of-town guests to something special?  Give them a gift basket!  There’s nothing more exciting than a gift basket gaily wrapped and filled with goodies.  It’s like a treasure hunt sifting through the wrapping and uncovering treats and trinkets.

For your out-of-town guests, gift baskets either at the front desk or already in the guest rooms are a thoughtful gesture.  Many brides fill the baskets with water, which can be personalized, soft drinks, snacks, wedding mementoes, information about the city, plus a schedule of wedding events and maps.  It’s nice to include directions from the hotel to the various venues hosting the wedding festivities.

Anything from your geographical area is always a hit with out-of-town guests especially locally made snacks and products, like cheese straws or pralines or pretzels or wine.  Look around, there’s so much that can be put into gift baskets.

Be innovative. Of course, gift baskets make wonderful hostess and attendants’ gifts, too.  They can be filled with food items, kitchen, bath, or something personal from the bride to the recipient.  Once again, you’re only limited by your imagination.  Mix different items together to create baskets unique to you, your wedding, and the person receiving the gift.

For example, you could mix specialty coffees with personalized mugs and flavorings.  Try a gift basket with picture frames (for photos yet to come from the wedding), small decorative boxes, and earrings plus a necklace made just for your wedding party.  Or, a spa basket filled with soaps, loofahs or bath mitts, scented candles and moisturizing lotions.  What a treat! You can put just about anything into a gift basket.  (Might be a clever way to pop the question!)

The container can be just as innovative as the items.  You’re not limited to just baskets.  Decorative boxes filled with colorful paper can be topped with an assortment of goodies.  Nowadays there are fun paper tote bags.

For example:  An ice bucket filled with bar items including mixers, napkins, coaster, glasses is always a hit.  This would be great for the groom’s attendants.  A stainless steel bowl filled with kitchen utensils and gourmet foods, even a cookbook, is perfect as a hostess gift, especially for a cook.  A pretty vase can be filled with sachets, decorative soaps, books and hand towels.  A mini cooler can be filled with soft drinks, snack mixes, and sports accessories.

For the golfer, you can have golf balls, tees, a towel personalized with your names and wedding date and other accessories pertinent to that sport.  Be creative. Be thoughtful.  A tote bag monogrammed with each bridesmaid’s initials can then be filled with something special for just that person.  For example, each of your bridesmaids will have their own individual personalized bag plus all the gifts inside will be personally selected by you for that special attendant.

Gift Baskets are perfect for all your gift giving.  Of course, we’re all familiar with the gourmet gift baskets and fruit baskets including specialty like coffee or tea, chocolate or sweets, snacks or wine and cheese.  How about theme gift baskets like housewarming, wedding or shower gifts, baby, birthday, anniversary, or thank you.  The list is endless.

For him: sports is always popular…golf, tennis, fishing, hunting, football, basketball, baseball, hockey, Nascar.  You can find books, small accessories, picture frames, mugs, steins, coasters, lots of items related to that particular sport.  Also popular for the men are cars, tools, grilling, gardening, and business.

For her: spa, decorative, aroma therapy, kitchen, gardening, romance.

Whatever you give, your friends and family are sure to love it!
