Weekly Wedding Tip: 27 Years of Marriage Tips, Tips 19-27+1

This is the final week of my 27 years of marriage tips; one tip for each year plus one to grow on.  Enjoy.

19.  I’ve got your back.  Support one another.

20. It’s not about who is right or wrong.  Sometimes there is no right and wrong.

21.  Admit when you’re wrong – Bruce Lee quote:  “Mistakes are always forgivable, if one has the courage to admit them.”

22.  Forgive and Forget – Don’t harbor and bring up 3 years later.  Move on!

23.  Give each other space.  Let him play poker one night with the guys.  You can play bunko with the girls.  I love it when my husband goes on golf trips with the guys.  It gives me some needed time alone.  And I always realize how much I miss him.  And he realizes how much he misses me.  Absence truly makes the heart grow fonder!

24.  Yes, you married his family.  Never say disparaging remarks about his family.  He can though.

25.   If he has children, you knew going into the marriage this was a package deal.  Never say disparaging remarks about his ex-wife, the children’s mother, especially in front of the children.  Work this out and make it a true extended family.

26.  Have a date night at least once a month, no matter what, and stick to it!

27.  Don’t let well meaning friends and family interfere in your marriage.

One to Grow On…28.  The first time you say “no” the Honeymoon is over.   Intimacy is important.

I hope you have enjoyed these tips.  And I pray that your marriage and love will grow with each passing day, each passing year!  And, to my husband, I say, thank you for 27 wonderful years together.  I look forward to 27 more years.  All my Love!  Lynda
