About the Artist: Missy Tanner was born and raised in Jackson, MS. Some of her earliest and fondest memories are of coloring in her coloring books with her momma. She spent her childhood painting and drawing, and turned to acting as a young adult.

Missy drove West to Los Angeles, in 1996, to test her acting chops. She wound up becoming a writer and Producer. After over a decade in Hollywood, Missy decided it was time to pack up and return to her Southern roots. With her 18 month old daughter, Olivia, in tow, Missy settled back down in Mississippi.

It didn’t take long for Missy to return to art. She opened a paint-your-own-pottery studio called “Mo’sArt” in Madison, MS in 2009. Missy works with over 30 daycares and schools creating art with kids of all ages. She is passionate about doing custom pieces – from trays and platters, to mugs and more!

Missy currently lives in Madison, MS with her husband Jeff, her daughter Olivia, stepson Will, and toy poodle, Fozzie Bear.
