Golden wedding inspo at historic gulf coast venue

When Centennial Plaza opened its doors last year. our team knew we wanted to create a styled shoot to showcase this gorgeous property and its multiple wedding venue options. This 48-acre resort complex has been completely reimagined as one of the gulf coast’s preferred destinations.

With a history harkening back over 100 years, this former military installation renovated 10 historic buildings that highlight the beauty, splendor, and opulence of the area. The resort boasts two hotels, the Grand Centennial and the Oasis Resort, for family friendly lodging with a three acre water playground complete with lazy river, splash pad, slides, and conventional pools for hotel guests.

Event options include the glorious Chapel with soaring ceilings, an arched ceremony space, and fully appointed bride and groom suites. Our team added beautiful draping and a floral installation that scaled the wood slat wall of the ceremony space for a dramatic effect.

We chose antique gold as our primary color in a palette that included florals of cream, coral and blush for a lush, romantic look. We selected the indoor venue above the Blue Marlin Restaurant as our reception area staging with round tables with two different linens, a luxurious gold velvet and a gold linen covered with a beaded, sheer topper for added sparkle.

We took advantage of many of the outdoor spaces as well setting up a cocktail hour under the oaks on the front lawn which faces the beach. Photo opportunities abound at Centennial Plaza, from the gallery porches and balconies overlooking the property to Centennial Park and pond on the east side of the campus and the beautiful dancing fountain that anchors the resort. Our modern palette was a perfect complement to the old-world romance of the floral design and the beautifully restored Spanish Colonial architecture of the resort. We are looking forward to seeing many years of weddings of all styles at this stunning venue.

The bridal suite at Centennial Plaza is beautiful and roomy enough for all your girls. A full wall of mirrored counter space is the perfect spot for hair and makeup prep.
We are still talking about the amazing floral work created by Still Magnolia Floral Design. These creamy roses paired with all that lush greenery were accented with an antique gold velvet ribbon.
Y’all the sleeves on this gown from The Wedding Collection! This dreamy gown is twenties inspired but is versatile enough for a simple beach wedding or a luxury, elegant affair. And can we talk about that makeup? The hair and makeup artists from the Tracy Branch Agency are simply the best!
The groom’s suite is just off the main Chapel so the guys can get ready and relax in privacy before the big event.
Draping from Southern Event Productions framed the stage for our ceremony and added a layer of elegance to the room.
We wish we had video of the dancing fountain to share with you. Like the famous fountain in Las Vegas, Centennial Plaza’s large fountain is choreographed to music.
A crystal chandelier and some high top tables transformed one of the two front lawn areas into a cocktail hour space. Both spaces are directly across from the sparkling water and sandy beach and have views of the property.
This gorgeous gold velvet linen from ABC Rental Center was the inspiration piece for the entire reception design.
Our team paired gold linens with an intricate beaded overlay on a few tables to add some sparkle and to break up the heaviness of the velvet linens.
Calligraphy pear place cards were a simple touch that didn’t draw attention from the lovely gold rimmed china.
Wild Flour Bakery crafted this four-tiered confection. Smooth buttercream was accented with layers of ruffles to mimic a bridal gown train.
Beautiful, picture perfect balconies run along both the property and beachfront sides of the event venue.
This train had us swooning.
The Centennial Park and pond under the live oaks is yet another outdoor location for your ceremony and reception. We’d love to see a ceremony on this adorable bride and a clear tent set under the trees.
