I DO Y'ALL

Moody, Spanish influenced wedding style

We love a moody, styled wedding, and this one submitted by Silver Thistle Weddings and Events captured our attention right away. It’s not just the gorgeous bride in a stunning black wedding gown that got us. We loved the rich tones in the bouquet and table decor, and the opulent design set against the starkness of the Texas hill country was simply breathtaking. The design inspiration stemmed from European style with a spin. The bold color palette in vivacious, deep red as the focus flower was accompanied by a large variety of greenery, pops of dark burgundy introduced by the scabiosas, a honey hue from the cymbidium orchids, and a gentle blue for softening the look emphasized by the gorgeous privet berries.

The cake was a complete contrast with a three-tier barrel cake created by Iced Cakes & Confections.  The moody, ebony petals on the center layer were softened by the marbled upper and lower layers. One deep red peony, and a few strands of pearls finished the look of the cake. The tablescape was lush and elegant with coordinating flowers in reds and burgundy and an unexpected pop of light blue napkins reflecting the azure Texas sky. The mariachi gave a nod to the bride’s heritage while a custom printed banner for the vintage exit car read “amor por siempre.”
