I DO Y'ALL

Rustic Barn Styled Shoot at Hodge’s Farm

Rose quartz elegance meets rustic wedding style in this styled shoot at Hodges Farm in Charlotte, North Carolina, chosen for its beautiful red barn (called the 1932 Barn), fences, century-old trees, and vintage truck.

White will forever be a wedding classic, but more brides are opting for gowns in surprising shades of pink, gold, green, red and even black. The trend in colored wedding dresses, like this gorgeous ballgown in rose quartz from Eshe Boutique, has gone mainstream by merging traditional silhouettes and feminine details with gorgeous hues, ranging from soft pastels to bright, bold primaries.

The dress wasn’t the only pop of unexpected color during this editorial shoot by photographer Nikia Williams. “This shoot was scheduled a month in advance and it snowed the morning of the shoot!” she explains. “Thankfully, the sun came out and all of the snow melted by noon. What a testament to our crazy North Carolina weather!”

You know what we say about our fickle forecasts in the south: if you don’t like the weather, just wait a few minutes! We are so glad conditions improved for Nikia and her team of wedding professionals. We love how they blended rustic elegance with on-trend style, creating a look that is both modern and timeless.

This editorial shoot at Hodges Farm in Charlotte, North Carolina was styled by personal stylist Mia Hammett and photographed by Nikia Williams. Janely’s makeup was done by Hannah Shalom. The tablescape on the sweetheart table was designed by Elishebah Macklin Designs. Anthony Montgomery and Janely Rivera modeled as our newlywed couple.
