Dear The Bridal Guru,
Sunday, August 24, there is going to be a bridal show in my home town. My Maid of Honor feels that I should attend. Since I am newly engaged and I have never attended a bridal show before, I am not sure what to expect and if I need to attend a bridal show. Help!

Dear Biloxi Bride,
Bridal Shows are a wonderful way to save time, energy and stress. Most have a variety of wedding professionals under one roof. This way you can meet a number of people in a short afternoon. How long would it take you to meet 35 or 40 vendors if you had to schedule meetings with all of them and run all over town? The convenience of having reputable wedding professionals under one roof and the time it saves you is well worth the price of the ticket alone.
The great thing about most bridal shows is they offer reputable wedding professionals. Most bridal shows have their rules for admittance by vendors. That is a comfort in itself. If there are several offered in your area and you can only attend one bridal show, choose a show that is a member of the Bridal Show Producers International. Membership into this organization by bridal show producers is very stringent and their rules or conduct are quite strict.
A bridal show is a great way to spend quality and fun time with your mother, your fiancée, your attendants, your family. There is usually sampling of food and cake, decorative ideas, and prizes. Of course, brides get special recognition and attention.
Make plans to attend the bridal show with your Maid of Honor and other friends and family. When you see the time and energy you save and how the show relives you of stress by not having to run all over town, you’ll be glad you attended.
