We should be thanking our Veterans every day of the year. We should be making sure our Veterans and their families receive the respect and honor they deserve for the sacrifices they made while serving in the military. We should never forget these men and women that have bravely fought for and served our country!
Many times these veterans come home emotionally scarred from what they experience over seas and in battle. It’s something that haunts them forever and they must learn to live with. My husband, to this day, does not like fireworks. It reminds him of fighting in the jungles of Viet Nam when a great deal of the fighting occurred. “Incoming,” was frequently heard in the glow of the rockets being propelled at these young eighteen, nineteen and twenty year old soldiers. These young men were far from home in a foreign country they didn’t know, in a war they didn’t understand; yet, they served their country, the United States of America, proudly.
The same holds true of our young returning soldiers from the middle East and Afghanistan. Some are fathers and mothers. Many have left great jobs and put their lives on hold to honorably perform the duties of the various branches of the United States Military.
Let’s assist all our Veterans proudly with a show of love and respect for their duty to country when called to serve and their honor to this great nation of ours. God Bless America! God Bless our Veterans! God Bless My Hero, My Veteran, My Husband, Johnny Jungkind!
